I coughed myself awake this morning – even less fun than being awakened by an alarm clock, though definitely better than being woken up at 3:30 am – and decided to venture out to get some of my favorite pink grapefruit juice (“It’s sass in a glass!”).

However, the store owner informed me that the hurricanes that just wouldn’t leave Florida alone a few months back meant that there was no sass in a glass for Suzy or anyone else for a while. Back ordered, he said, in the mysterious jargon of retail.

But he did have actual pink grapefruits for sale, which made no sense to Me. I mean, if there are grapefruits, shouldn’t there be grapefruit juice?

Walking home, I pondered this conundrum, and another sprang to mind: why do we say men are womanizers, but we don’t say women are manizers? And could you refer to a gay woman as a womanizer, if she was? Oh, the shallowness of Suzy’s mind, especially when deprived of sass in a glass.

I don’t know– those are pretty sassy wonderings. And I share your attachment to a perfect morning beverage– mine is blood orange juice from Italy that I get at Trader Joe’s . . one sip and I feel like I’m on the Mediterranean . . .

Hey Suzy-Girl – thanks for the hug today. I needed it and you give a good hug. So (((hugging))) you back and hope that cough disappears.

We have oooooodles of pink grapefruit juice here (my favourite too BTW) – want me to send you some? Well actually it is 100% pure grapefruit juice made by a company called Ceres (we all our fruit comes from which is exported) and its boxed so you can keep it like forever man *wink*. Actually we are having such a severe drought here, maybe I should start stocking up for years to come LOL.

Mmmmm…. I love love love me some pink greapfruit juice (the fact that it is pink is probably a big factor) and for now on I will only refer to it as sass in a glass. In fact, when I go to brunch this weekend I will order Sass in a glass with my eggs florentine. I wonder if the waiter will know what I mean . . . I will report back to you with the results!

Hope you feel better soon, Suzy. Coughs are annoying. When I get one, it seems to linger for months. I feel your pain. *hugs*

Hmmm. Sass in a glass. I’ll have to drink some this weekend. As far as I know, the hurricanes have not affected our citrus supply (but where do those pink grapefruit come from? Florida? Or Israel?) so I’ll have some of the pink stuff this weekend. Just because it’s sass. In a glass. And how easy can that be?
