Headache

Published by at 6:52 am under Calamity Suzy,Random Thoughts

Apart from work and family, the eternal but metaphorical headaches that they are, I have had a real headache since Thursday. This is a very long time to have a headache, and it’s beginning to interfere with what passes for the workings of my mind.

At first, I thought it was just the stormy weather, including unaccustomed thunderstorm. Then I thought it was spending weekend hours, the most precious kind, with my mother. But both of these have passed and I still have the headache. I have tried every remedy known to Suzy from both sides of the Atlantic, and to no avail. I am beginning to wonder if a girl can get a permanent headache. And not only that, why do people say, “It’s all in your head” like that’s better than something attributable to the physical? I mean, if it’s in your head, how can you ignore it? It’s right there, all the time. And as easy to overlook as an elephant in a studio apartment.

So it’s all in my head. But how can I get it out of there?

Yeah, go to a Dr, he/she will give you drugs to dull the pain, then go to a registered homeopath and he/she will fix you. I used to get migraines at least twice a week and they wrecked me – four doctors later and I was no better. I started seeing a homeopath and he hit on a remedy that helped. Now I get migraines maybe once every 2-3 months.

500 mg of ibuprofen always works for me. And if that doesn’t do it, I raid my stash of painkillers. 🙂

Or, maybe you should just get your butt to the gym, since exercise is a good stress reliever? *ducking*

If we are looking for immediate results, try this:

“Although some people use headaches as an excuse for not having sex, a researcher at Southern Illinois University has found that sex may actually provide some relief for migraine sufferers. The researcher found that the more intense an orgasm, the more relief was obtained.”

    lol

I used the get headaches at least 4 times a week and no amount of painkillers would alleviate it. Eventually after blood tests my Dr found that I had liver damage caused by too many painkillers. My liver was actually craving the medication and thus would “give” me a headache so it can have its fix. After a while of not taking anything with contained paracetemol, my headaches disappeared. I now also take Tissue Salts- great homeopathic remedy if I get a headache. Another thing I discovered was that my neck was out of alignment and I go once a mth to the physio where she aligns my neck. No more headaches.
