Practicalities
Jessica and a friend visited my sister recently, and they were all hanging out in the hot tub. My brother made it himself out of an old wine vat, and it runs on solar power. Jessica loves to have a soak after dinner, and it always makes her sleep better.
The friend asked Jessica if we were her “real” family.
Jessica: Yes, they’re my family.
Friend: But they’re not your real family.
Jessica (confidently): Yes, they are. Megan’s my aunt and my godmother.
Friend: What’s a godmother?
Jessica: It means, if anything happens to my momma, I’ll live with Megan and Rob and they’ll take care of me.
Friend: How will they know where to find you?
Jessica (now a little worried): Megan, I don’t think I have your phone number.
Megan: Don’t worry, honey, I’ll find you wherever you are.
Jessica: I think you’d better give me your number.

Children are so interesting. I enjoy listening to their conversations. Hope Jessica is reassured, now that she has Megan’s phone number..

Children are so straight and honest, unlike most adults, they do not beat around the bush but go right to the point and without even thinking about it, they find a solution to their problem, you have to love their honesty.
