I feel that way whenever I try to read Virginia Woolf. But I just can’t give up on a book no matter how bad it is. Haven’t read the two you mentioned but frivolous summer reading is required!

So this is where Colin got it! I’m referring to “The Devil Wears Prada” book, naturally.

He’s been doing nothing but reading that book.

And it started out as direct fault of mine. He was too embarassed to ask the sales clerk at the local Books-A-Million for it (attributing that it was far too girly, and probably aimed at the female market; embarassed and ashamed, for lack of a better phrase). I asked, and found it.

But it seems funny, although, not something I would pick up for myself. (For what I read of the first pages; it seems like a female version of the man in “Down With Love”…hmm.).

I *loved* Seabicsuit – the book and the movie and feel guilty that I didn’t buy it myself, but borrowed it. I very tempted to buy the movie although it wasn’t completely faithful to the book, which annoys me since it’s a TRUE freaking story!!! I’m also annoyed that the third Harry Potter movie is also NOT faithful to the book. I don’t understand wanting to make a movie of a SUCCESSFUL book, but changing it!

Another Shopaholic fan here (regretting having loaned the books to her niece who has now “lost” them). I don’t feel any guilt at not finishing certain books, there are far too many wonderful books out there deserving of our time to waste on those that don’t interest us.

Shopaholic was fun! I enjoyed it.

I never finished the movie Seabiscut either. I keep meaning to rent it to watch the last bit but never seem to get around to it… I’m sure it ends well though.

Just say NO to guilt! If I had a nickel for every book I didn’t read beyond the first ten pages I’d be rich. I am so picky but the payoff is when I love a book cause then I really LURVE it.
